Everyone always asks me, in person and via email, what kind of beauty routine I have. It’s actually a very simple one. I’d sooner torture myself watching television rather than go to a spa and get a facial* or have a complicated beauty routine. I can barely tolerate a blow dry.** Sometimes I use a Laura Mercier make-up remover, otherwise its all Clinique. The kinds of products you use depend so much on your skin type and lifestyle but I truly think that Clinique has something for everyone.
My three Clinique staples are:
Take the day off makeup remover for lids, lashes and lips– all in one, see? So easy.
Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion– (DDML known to Clinique devotees) – I know some beauty gurus think this is a simple lotion but I love that. It’s fragrance free***, lightweight because I always, always have sunscreen on underneath –which happens to be Clinique as well. Plus, it has a pump. Any kind of product that’s in a jar loses a lot of its kick because it’s so exposed. If you’re going to get a good moisturizer, get one in a tube or with a pump like this one.
Clinique High Impact Mascara – If someone were to open my mascara drawer, they would see every brand in there. Some day’s I wear Chanel, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Guerlain, Lamcôme and Marc Jacobs, but I really like this one. It does a lot in one coat, again, not much time involved and it washes off very nicely. Perfect for lazy make-up lovers like myself.
When Clinique has a bonus I usually stock up. I love their beautifully packaged gift bags with purchase. There are fantastic and useful products in them unlike the bonus bags of other brands I receive, which are usually given away because of products that aren’t right for my skin. Clinique offers travel size versions of what I use most and are very generous with the sizing. I always look forward to the chubby sticks, the texture and colors are gorgeous and I’ve gotten many compliments when I’ve worn them. Its worth it to stock up on your fave products and wait for Clinique’s bonus, the associates are extremely kind and will be able to give you a call and take down your order on the phone incase you are too busy to pop in the store. Service like that makes me stay loyal to truly skin-friendly beauty.
*Hardly ever turn it on, I much prefer books
** I know right? What’s wrong with me? Mani-Pedi’s and a good back massage are excluded.
***This is huge for me because I find that anything with the slightest bit of fragrance will irritate my skin.
